"SLOW DOWN, BOBBY!"

In the recent Billboard poll of deejays--one of the most accurate surveys in show biz--Frank Sinatra emerged as favorite singer and the most-played vocalist. Sinatra has walked away with top honors for several years in a row. Bobby Darin, a newcomer to the lists, zoomed to number five position in the fave category, number three in the "most-played" department and number ONE in the "most-promising" column.

Bobby Darin's spectacular rise was not credited just to his Splish Splash hit, or the Mack the Knife thing, but to the ability and talent to put on a good show at personal appearances. When deejays and producers saw Darin at work, they didn't hesitate getting behind him. Many considerer him just a step behind Sinatra and gaining fast.

Living up to his press notices is Bobby's biggest concern. Although he's got enough work lined up to coast for a year or more, Darin spends sleepless nights worrying if he can improve his performances next time out. Doctors have warned him to slow down a bit, but Bobby's tremendous drive keeps him going full speed ahead.

Well, you gotta move fast in the disk biz if you want to stay in front of the Chipmunks, the Nutty Squirrels and red-nosed Rudolph.
